The Dark mullein 'Album' (Verbascum nigrum) is an upright, clump-forming, winter-green perennial that produces white, cup-shaped flowers arranged in spikes from July to August. Its lanceolate leaves are medium green in colour. In a sunny location with well-drained, loose soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.2 m and grows to a width of approx. 50 cm. The Dark mullein 'Album' is well tolerant of frost.

Care

- A slow-release fertiliser can be used in spring. This releases the nutrients slowly and continuously so that the plant is evenly supplied over a longer period of time.
- Watering less frequently, but thoroughly and thoroughly, encourages the plant roots to penetrate deeper into the soil. This helps the plant to survive periods of drought.
- This perennial should be cut back in autumn/late autumn when the plant begins to shrivel.
- The faded inflorescences should be cut back. This measure encourages new growth.
