The Chiloe Island avens 'Mai Tai' (Geum chiloense) is an upright, winter-green perennial that produces apricot-coloured, cup-shaped flowers from June to August. Its pinnate leaves are grey-green. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 40 cm and is approx. 30 cm wide. The Chiloe Island avens 'Mai Tai' is well tolerant of frost.

Care

- If the plant is divided every 2-3 years and weak roots and shoots are removed, the reward is better growth and flowering vigour!
- If the plant is watered less frequently but thoroughly and penetratingly, the plant roots are encouraged to penetrate into deeper soil layers. This helps the plant to survive periods of drought.
- In harsh locations, sun protection is only recommended in the event of frost.
