The Thyme 'Red Carpet' (Thymus praecox) is a carpet-like, evergreen perennial that produces pink flowers arranged in whorls with a pleasant fragrance from June to July. In a sunny location with well-drained, humus-rich, sandy soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 10 cm and grows to a width of approx. 20 cm. The Thyme 'Red Carpet' is well tolerant of frost.

Thymus praecox 'Red Carpet' forms pink flowers arranged in whorls from June. These exude a pleasant fragrance.

Preferred location in a sunny position.

Use

Group planting, rock garden, bee pasture, ground cover, steppe garden

Water

Water regularly and allow the soil to dry out in the meantime.

If the plant is divided every 2-3 years and weak roots and shoots are removed, the reward is better growth and flowering vigour!
