The Balkan clary 'Blaukönigin' (Salvia nemorosa) is a flat, compact perennial that produces blue-violet, lip-shaped flowers arranged in panicles with a strong fragrance from June to July. Repeated flowering occurs in September if cared for correctly. Its lanceolate, toothed leaves are dark green. In a sunny location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 40 cm and grows to a width of approx. 40 cm. The Balkan clary 'Blaukönigin' is well tolerant of frost.

The deciduous leaves of the Balkan clary 'Blaukönigin's are dark green, lanceolate, toothed.

Flower

Salvia nemorosa 'Blaukönigin' forms lip-shaped, blue-violet flowers arranged in panicles from June. These exude a strong fragrance and grow to around 5 - 10 cm tall. With the right care, re-flowering in September.

Preferred location in a sunny position.
