The Balkan clary (Salvia nemorosa) is a bushy, upright perennial that produces purple, lip-shaped flowers arranged in panicles with a pleasant fragrance from June to July. Repeated flowering occurs in September with proper care. Its lanceolate leaves are grey-green. In a sunny location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 60 cm and grows to a width of approx. 40 cm. The Balkan clary is well tolerant of frost.

The deciduous leaves of the Balkan clary are grey-green, lanceolate.

Flower

Salvia nemorosa forms lip-shaped, purple flowers arranged in panicles from June. These exude a pleasant fragrance. With the right care, re-flowering in September.

Preferred location in a sunny position.

The Balkan clary has good frost hardiness.
