The Beardlip penstemon 'Coccineus' (Penstemon barbatus) is an upright, winter-green perennial that forms red, funnel-shaped flowers from June to September. Its lanceolate leaves are grey-green. In a sunny location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1 m and grows to a width of approx. 40 cm. The Beardlip penstemon 'Coccineus' is well tolerant of frost.
