The Black samson 'Leuchtstern' (Echinacea purpurea) is an upright perennial that forms dark pink, basket-shaped flowers from August to September. Its lanceolate leaves are dark green. In a sunny location with well-drained, humus-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1 m and grows to a width of approx. 40 cm. The Black samson 'Leuchtstern' is well tolerant of frost.
