The Ivy-leaved toadflax (Cymbalaria muralis) is a flat perennial that forms purple, ray-shaped flowers from June to September. Its roundish leaves are dark green. In a semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, lime-free, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 10 cm and grows approx. 30 cm wide. The Ivy-leaved toadflax is well tolerant of frost.

Cymbalaria muralis forms rake-shaped, purple flowers from June.

Water

Water regularly and allow the soil to dry out in the meantime.

Care

- If the plant is divided every 2-3 years and weak roots and shoots are removed, the reward is better growth and flowering vigour!
- If the plant is watered less frequently but thoroughly and penetratingly, the plant roots are encouraged to penetrate into deeper soil layers. This enables the plant to survive dry periods better.
