Hosta x cult.'Deanes Dream'

Clump-forming perennial. Forms an upright mound, reaching 40-50 cm (16-20 inches) tall and 60-70 cm (24-28 inches) wide.

Deciduous. Long, pointed, blue-green to aqua-turquoise leaves that are slightly cupped with wavy margins. The distinctive bright purple petioles (leaf stalks) extend up to the leaf blade.

Produces loose clusters of pale lavender, funnel-shaped flowers on upright scapes in July.

Thrives in partial shade to full shade. Best color retention in filtered light.

Excellent (USDA Zones 3-9). Very cold-hardy.

Prefers moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Tolerates a range of soil types but dislikes excessively wet or dry conditions.

Medium water requirement. Keep consistently moist, especially during dry periods.

Ideal for shade gardens, borders, woodland settings, underplanting trees and shrubs, and containers. Provides excellent foliage contrast.

Low maintenance. Remove spent flower stalks if desired. Generally robust; thick leaves may offer some slug resistance.

Best planted in autumn or early spring.
