The Blue eryngo 'Blauer Zwerg' (Eryngium planum) is an upright, compact perennial that produces blue flowers from July to September. Its heart-shaped, slit leaves are dark green. In a sunny, wind-protected location with well-drained, dry soil, it usually reaches a height of around 60 cm and is around 50 cm wide. The Blue eryngo 'Blauer Zwerg' is well tolerant of frost.

- If the plant is watered less frequently but thoroughly and penetratingly, the plant roots are encouraged to penetrate into deeper soil layers. This enables the plant to survive dry periods better.
