The New Zealand bur 'Kupferteppich' (Acaena microphylla) is a creeping, cushion-forming, winter-green perennial with decorative, pinnate, toothed, red-brown leaves. It bears white, ball-shaped flowers from June to July. Decorative purple-red fruits develop from the flowers in September. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 10 cm and grows to a width of approx. 30 cm. The New Zealand bur 'Kupferteppich' is well tolerant of frost.
