The Foam flower (Tiarella wherryi) is a runner-forming, cushion-shaped, winter-green perennial with decorative, heart-shaped, lobed, medium-green leaves. From May to June, it bears light pink-coloured flowers arranged in umbels with a pleasant fragrance. In a semi-shady to shady location with well-drained, loose soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 30 cm and grows to a width of approx. 30 cm. The Foam flower is well tolerant of frost.

Care

- A slow-release fertiliser can be used in spring. This releases the nutrients slowly and continuously so that the plant is evenly supplied over a longer period of time.
- This perennial should be cut back in autumn/late autumn when the plant begins to shrivel.
- If watered less frequently but thoroughly and thoroughly, the plant roots are encouraged to penetrate deeper into the soil. This helps the plant to survive periods of drought.
