The Common thyme 'Compactus' (Thymus vulgaris) is a bushy, dense, stocky, winter-green perennial that produces white-pink flowers with a pleasant fragrance from June to July. In a sunny location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 20 cm and grows to a width of approx. 25 cm. The Common thyme 'Compactus' is well tolerant of frost.

Water regularly and allow the soil to dry out in the meantime.

Care

- If the plant is divided every 2-3 years and weak roots and shoots are removed, the reward is better growth and flowering vigour!
- Too much fertiliser damages the herb flavour! Herbs are well cared for in planters if they are given herb fertiliser once in spring. When planted out in the garden, a dose of compost at the start of the season is sufficient.

Planting: Autumn, depending on variety also in spring.
