The Labrador violet (Viola labradorica) is a loose, carpet-like perennial with decorative, roundish, green-brown leaves. It bears blue flowers from April to May. In a semi-shady to shady location with well-drained, lime-free soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 15 cm and is approx. 30 cm wide. The Labrador violet is well tolerant of frost.
