Chinese wisteria 'Prolific' is a climbing plant that grows upwards, reaching a height of 8 - 15 metres and a width of 4 - 10 metres. It usually grows 0.5 - 1.5 m per year.

The deciduous leaves of the Chinese wisteria 'Prolific' are medium green, pinnate and alternate. Chinese wisteria 'Prolific' turns bright yellow in autumn.

The blue-violet flowers of the Chinese wisteria 'Prolific' appear in clusters from May to June. They are pleasantly fragrant.

Wisteria sinensis 'Prolific' is a shallow-rooting plant and, depending on the soil, forms extensive branching roots.

Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected position.

The Chinese wisteria 'Prolific' has good frost hardiness.
