The Chestnut-leaved rodgersia (Rodgersia aesculifolia) is a bushy, upright, dense perennial with decorative, palmate, toothed, medium green leaves. From May to June, it bears white flowers arranged in panicles. In a semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.3 m and grows to a width of approx. 70 cm. The Chestnut-leaved rodgersia is well tolerant of frost.
