With its light green leaf colouring, Umbrella bamboo 'Bimbo' (Fargesia murielae) is a decorative design element in the garden. In addition to its compact and rounded shape, its special feature is that it does not need a rhizome barrier! It prefers sunny to semi-shady locations with well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich and slightly acidic soil. Under favourable conditions, this hardy bamboo reaches a height of approx. 2 m and grows up to 1.5 m wide.

Growth

Umbrella bamboo 'Bimbo' is a compact and rounded growing bamboo that can reach a height of 1 - 2 m and a width of 1 - 1.5 m. Slow growing.
