The Rhododendron 'Bad Eilsen' (Rhododendron repens) produces a veritable sea of bright red flowers in May. Its evergreen foliage is dark green. This stocky, compact-growing shrub usually reaches a height of 60 - 70 cm and a width of 1 to 1.2 metres. A semi-shady (to shady) location and lime-free soil create optimal conditions for healthy growth. The Rhododendron 'Bad Eilsen' is well tolerant of frost.
