The Jacob's ladder (Polemonium caeruleum) is an upright perennial that produces blue, funnel-shaped flowers with a pleasant fragrance from May to June. Repeated flowering occurs from July to August with the right care. Its pinnate leaves are medium green in colour. In a sunny to semi-shady location with humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 80 cm and is approx. 40 cm wide. The Jacob's ladder is well tolerant of frost.

Flower

Polemonium caeruleum forms funnel-shaped, blue flowers from May. These exude a pleasant fragrance. With the right care, re-flowering from July to August.

- If watered less frequently but thoroughly and penetratingly, the plant roots are encouraged to penetrate into deeper soil layers. This helps the plant to survive periods of drought.
- This perennial should be cut back in autumn / late autumn when the plant begins to shrivel up.
