The Caucasian leopard's bane (Doronicum orientale) is an upright, dense, winter-green perennial that forms yellow, basket-shaped flowers from April to May. Its roundish, toothed leaves are medium green. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, sandy soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 50 cm and grows to a width of approx. 30 cm. The Caucasian leopard's bane is well tolerant of frost.

Water regularly and allow the soil to dry out in the meantime.

Care

- If the plant is divided every 2-3 years and weak roots and shoots are removed, the reward is better growth and flowering vigour!
- If the plant is watered less frequently, but thoroughly and penetratingly, the roots are encouraged to penetrate deeper into the soil. This helps the plant to survive periods of drought.
- Faded inflorescences should be cut back. This measure promotes new growth.
