More green areas for our cities

Cities adorned with quality parks and green open spaces offer a high quality of life. To achieve this, it is essential to choose the right plant species for the respective local conditions.

Trees in cities suffer in particular from frequently difficult local conditions. Climatic extremes, such as heat, aridity or storms require a selection of plants suitable for the location. We will apply our expertise to your project and advise you in selecting the right plants.

In collaboration with our municipal clients, we keep testing new suitable species, which allows us to contribute to the current discussions.

Enhancing the variety of species, i.e. adding plants indigenous to Southern Europe or Asia to the established Central European tree species seems to be the most promising way, according to current knowledge, to find city trees that tolerate these extreme weather conditions well.

Due to the arid continental climate prevailing at Tremmen, avenue trees from the Lorberg nursery are better prepared than most others for urban areas and have lived up to expectations at many city locations.
